We are seeking a detail-oriented Grant Program Assistant to join our team.
The ideal candidate will serve to assist with grant administration and compliance of contracts.
This position provides support to the fiscal and development departments and may perform a range of other duties, as needed.
Responsibilities:
Assist with preparation of contract/budget and any modifications to same Reviews expenditures to ensure appropriate spending on grants Submits timely reimbursement billings to appropriate contacts at each granting agency and maintains correspondence to ensure timely receipt of reimbursements Monitors project activity including cost overruns, cost sharing, and unallowable/administrative expenses throughout project lifecycle to ensure compliance Works collaboratively with department director to review costs for allowability, allocability, and reasonableness Performs reconciliation of expenditures and final award closeouts and ensures final reports and invoices are submitted timely to meet grant requirements.
Provides ongoing assistance with accounting procedures for grants.
Prepare for financial audit process of grant data files for auditors Track demographics of clients and prepare monthly or quarterly fiscal reports as required Support outreach, communications and community engagement for programs
Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree (Experience in a related field may be substituted on a year for year basis for education) Three years prior experience with business accounting functions in a non-profit organization Prior experience in grant programs and contracts administration and budget management Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Access), MAS 100 accounting software, and internet applications Understands the role of grant funding to support the company mission and strategic goals Ability to interpret and analyze financial data/issues and propose viable solutions Ability to work independently and to prioritize workload; ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure and have excellent time management skills Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse population.
